Imagine studying in the French Pyrenees

The programme low-down

The Flex formula

On a Flex - Pyrenees programme, you will be guaranteed a placement in the south of France, in close proximity to the Pyrenees mountain range, in one of the five departments that border with Spain - from Pyrénées-Atlantiques (Atlantic Pyrenees) to Pyrénées-Orientales (Eastern Pyrenees).

It's an unmissable opportunity if you dream of living near the mountains and discovering the area around famous cities such as Pau, Tarbes, Toulouse, Foix and Perpignan.

The Pyrenees

On the pilgrim's path - discovering the wild side of France

The French Pyrenees are an impressive mountain range straddling the border of France and Spain, extending for nearly 500 km and separating the two countries. It's an area rich in natural beauty and highly renowned amongst mountain lovers, whilst also offering a host of culturally significant places with thousands of years of history behind them.

For centuries, the Pyrenees have been characterised by a constant flux of travellers, thanks to the ancient pilgrimade route Via Francigena - including the renowned Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James) which traverses the Pyrenees from France into Spain, making this area uniquely multicultural to this day.

One of the most untouched regions of France, the wild nature and dramatic landscapes of the Pyrenees are sprinkled with natural reserves and parks, as well as fantastic skiing and hiking spots. The Cirque de Gavarnie, a vast natural cirque declared a World Heritage Site in 1997, is particularly appreciated by outdoor enthusiasts - no surprisingly, as it contains the tallest waterfall in Europe and impressive 1,500 metre-high rock walls.

In addition, you will find many perfectly-preserved medieval centres with impressive castles, forts and old villages that will make you step back in time. Whether in a city like Pau, which bore witness to the birth of Henry IV of France and the very origins of the House of Bourbon, or in solemn, mysterious cities like Lourdes, you will experience the rich history of the Pyrenees region on your skin.
