Meet your new Brazilian family

She is looking forward to meeting you.

Families are selected by the São Paulo State Department of Education (SEDUC-SP). Here is what this means in practical terms:

A safe and welcoming environment that promotes cultural integration and student wellbeing.

A real family environment, where you can share habits, daily routines and authentic moments of life.

A daily reference point, essential for experiencing life not as a guest, but as an active member of the local community.

FAQ

No. For the São Paulo Connection pilot phase, you only need to enter Brazil on a tourist visa, depending on your nationality. The programme is a short-term cultural and educational experience, non-academic and without formal credits, so it does not require a student visa.

No prior knowledge of Portuguese is required before departure. The programme includes Portuguese as the host language, with an introduction designed for beginners, naturally integrated into daily life and school activities.

An intermediate level of English is required, sufficient to communicate independently and participate in school and social life. Official certification is not mandatory: a self-assessment and verification during the aptitude interview are sufficient.

No. Students may be placed in different state schools, depending on availability and suitability for the host family. All schools are located in the state of São Paulo, but in different municipalities.

The experience is primarily individual, with a particular emphasis on immersion in the local family and school.

During the programme, however, group, institutional or project-related activities may be planned with other international and Brazilian students.

The programme lasts 30 days.

Arrival in Brazil is scheduled between 18 and 22 July 2026, while the return journey will take place between 22 and 23 August 2026, depending on the final organisation of the group and flights.

At the end of the programme, you will receive official certification from the São Paulo State Department of Education (SEDUC-SP), accompanied by a digital badge linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A final review of the programme is also planned, with a portfolio and presentation of the activities carried out.

São Paulo Connection is neither a school year nor a traditional commercial programme. It is an institutional pilot project, created to:

  • promote intercultural dialogue,

  • strengthen global citizenship,

  • create links between students from different countries,

  • offer an educational experience inspired by the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

It is intended for those who wish to get involved in a meaningful way, experience Brazil "from the inside" and participate in a project with high social and educational value.
