Lives and studies in Connecticut, at St Thomas More School

The boarding programme

Discover your new home

For your school programme in the United States, you will attend St Thomas More School, a private school located on a beautiful campus by a lake, surrounded by green spaces that sometimes serve as classrooms on sunny days! The school is located in Oakdale, a small community not far from the Connecticut coast, less than three hours from New York and Boston.

Approximately 50% of the school's students are international students. Classes are small, with an average of only 10 to 12 students per class, which guarantees personalised attention for each student. St Thomas More does not accept day students: all students at the school, whether American or international, live on campus.

Once classes are over, it's time for activities and sports! STM has several "sport academies" for students who want to play their favourite sport throughout the year (boys: basketball, football and American football / girls: football). There are lots of other sports and activities on offer, so you're sure to find something you like: baseball, cross-country, golf, badminton, tennis, art club, chess club, volunteering, cooking club, drone club, film club, robotics club, Zumba club...

The school

Internationally

St Thomas More opened its doors in 1962. Historically, the school was reserved for boys, but it welcomed its first female students in 2021, who are now fully integrated into the community and school life. Thanks to small class sizes, students at St Thomas More (STM) can count on individual attention and personalised relationships with teaching staff. A balanced mix of local and international students provides access to international perspectives that contribute to greater empathy and communication.
